Wink Cold air intake difference??

Would someone be so kind as to tell me if there is a difference between and K&N cold air intake and others on the market that sell for much, much less? I would like to add one to my 2001 Mustang convertible but do not know if there is a $150 dollar difference other than a name. I figure that if I add one I may be able to get from 0 to 60 in under 18 minutes
