Our thoughts exactly! I hate going to a site and seeing it have 100 forums and a front page that runs a mile down.

One thing that's lacking on this forum is a quick reply option. a lot of forums have it- it makes it easier to type a reply without having to navigate to another page. And I didn't notice if you did or not so I'll recommend it and if you already have it ignore me: a vendor's section for sponsors to post promotions and for us to provide feedback directly to their representative on the forum.
Another forum I'm on put a subsection in the off-topic area called the "burnout box," the rule is if you want to flame somebody or call them out, you do it there. it's viewable only by registered members and keeps flame wars out of the forums. while it may sound bad, I believe it to be a neccessity as every forum I have ever been on has had flame wars, and I've seen a huge difference on that forum with the burnout box in place.

As we grow, we'll add a Vendor section.

Also, the burnout box sounds like a good idea. it seems a little controversial but I could see the benefits. as we grow, that might be another good thing to implement.

Thanks for the ideas!

Hey Jon-

FWIW... I totally understand/agree with keeping the specific headings to a minumum, however...

...there are a lot of vintage Mustang owners out there. It seems like the 1965-1978 years ought to have a heading too. There are some former owners (like me... I once owned a '67 Stang) who would enjoy a specific place to discuss the classic Mustangs. You could even lump them into one collective heading like "Pre-1979 Mustangs" rather than breaking them out into "first generation 1964-1973" and "second generation "1974- 1978" etc. Just my 0.02 worth...
